RENASYS™ Wound Dressing Kits are designed to be used in conjunction with Negative Pressure Wound Treatment (NPWT) systems to apply negative pressure to the wound.
Negative pressure therapy systems can promote wound healing. NPWT is an appropriate system for the following types of wounds:
- Pressure ulcers
- Diabetic/neuropathic ulcers
- Ulcers due to venous insufficiency
- Traumatic wounds
- Postoperative surgical wounds and dehiscence
- Explored fistulas
- Skin grafts and flaps
- Wounds resistant to conventional treatment or expected to be long-lasting.
- Deep wounds and/or with a large amount of exudate. As an adjuvant treatment to other interventions or techniques or in the preparation of the wound bed for other interventions.
Precautions:
Precautions should be taken in patients with: – Anticoagulant treatment. – Hemostasis problems. – Bad disposition or aggressiveness of the patient – Untreated malnutrition.
Contraindications:
Contraindicated in patients with:
- Necrotic tissue (bedsores).
- Untreated osteomyelitis.
- Malignant wounds (except to improve quality of life).
- Exposed organs or vessels.
- Unexplored fistulas.
