ACTICOAT is an antimicrobial barrier dressing for the treatment of chronic or acute wounds, composed of nanocrystalline silver with crystals of 15 nanometers (nm) in size, concentration of 70 to 100 parts per million (ppm), antimicrobial effectiveness against more than 360 pathogens and sustained release of silver for up to 3 days (ACTICOAT).

- 1 absorbent polyester rayon inner layer.
- 2 outer layers of high-density polyethylene covered with silver.

ACTICOAT's nanocrystalline silver acts as an antimicrobial barrier, eliminating a wide spectrum of bacteria in just 30 minutes. ACTICOAT is an effective barrier against more than 360 pathogens, including Gram Negative, Gram Positive, antibiotic resistant bacteria such as Pseudomonas, MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphyloccocus Aureus) and VRE (Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus). The inner layer absorbs exudate and retains moisture, maintaining the optimal moist environment for rapid healing.
