INTRASITE* GEL is a hydrogel with a cleansing and regenerating action on wounds.
- Cleansing and regenerating action on wounds.
- It uses the proven advantages of wet curing while being able to eliminate necrotic remains, excess exudate and regenerating granulation tissue.
- Suitable for cleaning the wound in its initial healing phases.
- It can be used to provide a moist environment during the granulation and epithelialization phases.
PRESENTATION: 1 piece
Model: #7311
Benefits
- Stimulates wound healing.
- Clean the necrotic remains.
- Absorbs slough.
- Easy application and change.
In necrotic wounds:
Necrotic remains must be eliminated to promote tissue recovery, therefore, careful cleaning is essential at the beginning of wound treatment. In this phase Intrasite* Gel should be changed every day to accelerate the removal of necrotic tissue.
Intrasite* Gel can be used on infected wounds under medical supervision and concurrently using systemic antibiotic treatment.
In wounds with slough:
In the inflammatory phase of the wound healing process, eschar is formed by the accumulation of dead cells in the exudate. By draining excess exudate from the wound surface, Intrasite* Gel stops the accumulation of cellular debris and prevents eschar formation. In other cases, when the eschar is already formed, the rehydrating action of the gel eliminates it slowly and effectively without damaging the newly formed tissue. During this phase Intrasite* Gel should be changed every day to optimize the cleaning effect.
In granulating wounds:
Promoting rapid healing, Intrasite* Gel creates a moist environment within the wound, preventing the formation of eschar and stimulating the formation of granulation tissue.
Indications
Treatment of open superficial or deep lesions, for example, pressure and vascular ulcers, surgical wounds, malignant wounds, burns, scalds, lacerations and cracks.
Instructions for use
Wound preparations
- Remove the secondary dressing. Irrigate the wound with sterile saline to clean the bed.
Preparation of Intrasite* Gel
- Remove the orange protector from the Applipak mouthpiece.
- Clean the nozzle of the container with an appropriate antiseptic.
Nozzle removal
- Break the nozzle.
Application of Intrasite* Gel on the wound
- Keeping the nozzle out of direct contact with the wound surface, press the rear end of the Applipak to dispense the hydrogel. Apply a thin layer of hydrogel to the surface of the wound (approx. 5 mm). Discard the excess gel.
How to remove the product?
Intrasite* Gel does not adhere to the fabric, so it is easy to remove. To do this, the gel must be removed by simply irrigating the lesion with saline solution. It does not cause pain, and does not require subsequent manipulation.
Intrasite* Gel must be removed if exudate passes through the secondary dressing. The frequency of change will depend on the type of wound:
Necrotic wounds : Daily, to optimize wound rehydration.
Wounds with slough : Daily to optimize cleaning.
Granulating wounds : Once every 3 or 4 days.
